In recent design news ...

I know that there are many who believe AI is more of a problem than an advantage and I can most certainly see both sides of that particular argument ... the fear of being replaced by a computer seems unusually high at the moment. But fear not, because most of our members are still using paper and pencil to create/edit patterns when CAD has been around for 30 years or more in the fashion industry. The custom/bespoke/made to measure nature of dancewear doesn't look to be at any risk of being replaced ... it's not like anyone is going to start designing unique one off rythmic gymnastics outfits in AI anytime soon, for example ... at least that's what I thought until I saw the following ....

Below is an example of someone in our group now using AI to do gymnastics leotards (permission to post images given). She's using Resleeve which is the same app I played with a quite few months ago. She says Resleeve is good to get her imagination going when she comes up blank ... in previous times she'd do what most of us did and scour places like Pinterest for inspiration before sketching out her own ideas. I just find this fascinating ... we now have apps like Clo3D (she's using my blocks in Clo) helping people to make patterns, that are inspired by AI designs and then sublimating (digital printing) the fabrics like we saw from Jitka a couple of days ago. I know there's bugs in these images ... quite a few ... but if they're just being used for inspiration then it hardly matters ...

I was honestly thinking that most people were still using paper, pencil and french curves for dance and gymnastics ... I know we have lots of people using CAD, but I never once ever considered the dance group to be AI converts as well! This year just keeps shocking me!

Is anyone else playing with AI for swim or dance? My curiosity is getting the better of me. I'm happy for you to share your images ... maybe you could give your reasons and how you find it to use whichever app it is you are using.
